Animals' ability to predict

Scientists believe that animals are able to predict dangers better than people. Here is one story that can make clear this ability.
One day villagers in Bethel Valley, Australia were surprised when they saw a herd of cows running out of the grassland where the cows were usually tended.
Some wise men in the village said that something terrible would happen. The villagers wondered whether they should move to another place or not. People discussed and tried to come to an agreement.
At last they decided to go. They took with them necessary things and moved to the next village which was 15 miles from the old village.
Can you guess what happened after that? Just one day after the villagers moved, there was an earthquake. Luckily all the villagers were in the safe zone. And there was no serious consequence.
